A Message from Tim Dunning
I am informing you of my intention to run again for Re-Election as your Douglas County Sheriff. In January of 1995, I was sworn in as your Douglas County Sheriff and I promised to serve in the best interest of our County.
During my tenure, as promised, we have made public safety more efficient by merging our communication technology with all public safety agencies in Douglas County. This means that all Public Safety agencies, Police & Fire, can communicate with each other on a daily basis as well as during critical incidents.
We have taken steps to protect our children by developing a Cyber Crimes Task Force to track down individuals who use the Internet for crimes against our youth. We have also implemented Project Safe Schools, a program providing law enforcement patrols around elementary schools and the immediate neighborhoods before and after school.
We currently subcontract our Crime Lab services with a five county area. We have received national accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) in Jacksonville, Florida on March 25, 2006. CALEA represents the best law enforcement practices in North America. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is the only Sheriff's Office in the State of Nebraska to have received such recognition.
I am asking for your financial help for this upcoming campaign season. As you know, a successful campaign requires television and radio advertising, signage, and brochures, and all of this requires funding.
I enjoy working as your Douglas County Sheriff and I hope to serve our citizens for another term, however, I cannot do it without your help.
I hope I can count on your support for the 2014 election year. I have sincerely appreciated your support in the past. If there are any issues important to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
